Lethal Weapon: The Complete First Season BD + Screen Caps

Lethal Weapon: The Complete First Season was pretty big surprise considering the history of these kinds of adaptations (just look at Rush Hour which was mercifully cancelled quickly) and although Wayans and Crawford aren’t nearly as good as Glover and Gibson, they do work well off each other.

Wonder Woman 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Review

Wonder Woman isn’t a masterpiece but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I loved it, perhaps even more on my second viewing. I know many have complained about the third act, but I felt it flowed nicely and had a thrilling fight sequence; Gadot isn’t a great actress however she was perfectly cast.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie BD + Screen Caps

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie isn’t bad by any stretch, but this is the kind of movie aimed squarely at those in the 8-13 age group and while I didn’t the jokes landed that well, it’s passable enough for parents to watch with their kids.

The Hero BD + Screen Caps

The Hero isn’t a movie that will be remembered for its sometimes clichés-filled plot or the style, but Sam Elliott gives a soulful and brilliant performance that I hope is remembered come awards time and the supporting cast, Prepon and Offerman especially, turn in solid work.

Cartels BD + Screen Caps

Cartels is merely the latest example, a sad one, of just how far Steven Seagal has fallen. The man who once made Under Siege 2 an entertaining romp has been reduced to mumbling lines and half-assing many fight scenes. Still, this is ever so slightly better than some of his other recent ventures, but that’s not saying a whole lot.

Hype! – Collector’s Edition BD + Screen Caps

While I grew up in the 1990s, and in the Pacific Northwest, I never really got into grunge music, though I knew all about Nirvana of course, so Hype didn’t do a whole lot for me but at the very least did give a good history of the music from that time and the bands that sprung from it.

The Resurrected BD + Screen Caps

The Resurrected is a quirky but fun enough horror-thriller with some so-so performances that is relatively unknown (I personally never heard of it). Not sure I’ll revisit this any time soon, but for fans of the genre, its worth of watch.

Supernatural: The Complete Twelfth Season BD + Screen Caps

Supernatural: The Complete Twelfth Season isn’t great but still offers some entertaining episodes here and there and I do enjoy the core cast, especially Misha Collins.

Review: Amsterdamned BD + Screen Caps

Amsterdamned  has a bit of a cult following since its release nearly 30 years ago and although I wasn’t overly enamored with the film, though found some scenes highly enjoyable and bucking the trends of the suspense/thriller, it is worth a watch.

My Cousin Rachel BD + Screen Caps

My Cousin Rachel was one of the bigger disappointments for me as I do like the cast, mainly Rachel Weisz, but the story never really came together as it could’ve and the pacing was dreadfully slow.

The Mummy 4K/BD + BD Screen Caps

I didn’t feel The Mummy was a bad movie but worse yet, a completely forgettable one. Tom Cruise never really felt at home, Annabelle Wallis was rather bland in the female lead, Russell Crowe unremarkable in a forced appearance as Jekyll/Hyde and Sofia Boutella makes for a hot mummy, but not very threatening.

The Originals: The Complete Fourth Season BD + Screen Caps

This fourth season of The Originals is, for me, more of the same. Some of the stories aren’t terribly compelling (so to speak) but I still enjoy Joseph Morgan’s Klaus character and at least the season is watchable and being only 13 episodes

Review: Security BD + Screen Caps

I honestly had a good time watching Security not so much that it’s “good” but it is solid entertainment and a throwback to the action-thriller from the 1980s with a simple plot and an even simpler villain. The movie also works thanks to Banderas who continues to show he can be a bad ass.

Review: First Kill BD + Screen Caps

First Kill was admittedly a tad better than I expected but not due to the point-and-shoot direction, a poor script or even Bruce Willis who seemed to give more of a damn compared to his other Grindstone DTV films, but a genuinely charm-filled performance from Gethin Anthony.

Review: All Eyez on Me BD + Screen Caps

All Eyez on Me might be the long-awaited and most anticipated bio-pic on Tupac Shakur but speaking as someone who didn’t really follow his career growing up but this drama is underwhelming to say the least with some poor writing and so-so performances, though Demetrius Shipp Jr. is the spitting image of Shakur and does well in the role.
