Promising Young Woman 4K Ultra HD Review

Promising Young Woman is a revenge drama-thriller starring the wonderful Carey Mulligan who gives a great performance, even if the movie didn’t always work for me.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Blu-ray Review

Spider-Man: No Way Home was probably my favorite of the “trilogy” with an okay story, albeit thin and on the contrived side, but the character and their developments were pretty entertaining.

Frozen II 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Review

Frozen II is a slight step up from the first film, though notable that I am in the minority as I wasn’t a big fan of that movie, and with this film at least the music was better.

No Tell Motel DVD Review

The No Tell Motel set is another budget release from Mill Creek and outside maybe Vacancy, are not very good movies, but if you enjoy these types of movies then it might be worth picking up in the sub $10 range.

The Front Runner Blu-ray Review

, The Front Runner from a technical and acting standpoint is a perfectly fine movie. But the issue comes from the fact it’s not all that important, or at least as important as the filmmakers want it to be, with the ideas presented.

DC Universe 10th Anniversary Collection BD

The DC Universe: 10th Anniversary Collection is an excellent release that even though some of the animated movies aren’t the best, having them in one place is nice. The only issue I have is, there is going to be more releases and given how physical media is going, not entirely sure there will be a volume 2 release, but who knows.

Review: Species BD + Screen Caps

Species is simply not a very good movie, not even sure it’s in the so bad it’s good category either, but I did find a modest amount of entertainment value, albeit trashy, for it being a B-horror flick and honestly it’s aged better than I thought.

Review: Wonder Woman BD + Screen Caps

This Wonder Woman animated movie is decent enough featuring a solid story and a nice selection of voice casting. This was one of DC’s earliest animated releases and probably one of their better outings.

Review: Justice League Dark – Limited Edition Gift Set BD + Screen Caps

Justice League Dark is a middle-of-the-road entry into the DC Animated Universe. It’s also a bit inside baseball in that probably die-hard fans of the comics will get something out if it while others will find it crowded and the magical elements even made it harder to follow.

Review: The Da Vinci Code UHD + Screen Caps

The Da Vinci Code has more or less remained the same in my eyes since seeing it in theaters a decade ago. The acting more or less steals the show over a bit of a convoluted story, yet the mystery and adventure aspect makes the nearly two-and-a-half hour running time bearable.

Review: Secret in Their Eyes BD + Screen Caps

Secret in Their Eyes is a decent if not horribly disappointing movie considering the amazing cast. Although the three main actors turn in perfectly fine performances, with Chiwetel Ejiofor being the best of the trio exuding enough charm to overcome story and editing issues, this is not a film that has much if any replay value and is at best a Saturday night rental, nothing more.

Monsters University 3D Blu-ray Review

Monsters University might be one of the weaker outings from Disney/Pixar since Cars, yet there’s enough here to make it an enjoyable experience for the entire family. The return of Billy Crystal and John Goodman is great, the animation is still absolutely amazing and the story is good even if it heavily borrows from other college films, although I suppose one could argue it was paying homage to those movies.

Spider-Man 2 Blu-ray Review (Mastered in 4k)

The Spider-Man 2 Mastered in 4k Blu-ray release looks good but is it worth the price of an upgrade (around $15)? I don’t think so especially since, as with the other 4k releases none of the features were ported over. Still, if you own the proper equipment and have made the determination to dive into the field, this is a top title worth having in your collection.

Robot Chicken: DC Comics Special Blu-ray Review

The “Robot Chicken: DC Comics Special” is just as funny as the show itself and for fan of DC Comics, it’s a hoot to watch. While not all the jokes land, the majority do and alongside some decent talent lending their voices, even if a few are unrecognizable (like Alfred Molina).
