Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is a wonderful conclusion to the New 52 DCAU which had its ups and downs but produced some good features, a few of which rival the live action side.

Batman: Hush is a not top-of-the-line entry in the DC Animated Universe line and while the deviation from the source material is understandable, even necessary, what they went with was hardly satisfying.

Reign of the Supermen might not be a strong follow up to The Death of Superman and probably middle of the pack amongst the others within the connected DC Animated Universe, but it is pretty entertaining with some great animation.

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis is not DCUA’s best output to date but it’s a perfectly entertaining film with a few flaws, primarily the limited running time. But the voice casting is mostly good, even Jason O’Mara, and on the whole I enjoyed it and some of the darker humor.

Can’t Hardly Wait still is a favorite high school movie of mine, partially because it came out at the end of my junior year and because even though I’ve seen it several times over the years, I still manage to laugh and it’s just a fun, almost comfort-like movie.

The Death of Superman was a great addition to DC’s Animated Movie line with a tight and well told adaptation of the famous story, doing far better justice than Superman: Doomsday, and some fine voice talent work in addition, though Rainn Wilson’s Lex Luthor sounded off.

Justice League Dark is a middle-of-the-road entry into the DC Animated Universe. It’s also a bit inside baseball in that probably die-hard fans of the comics will get something out if it while others will find it crowded and the magical elements even made it harder to follow.

But the voice casting is mostly good, even Jason O’Mara, and on the whole I enjoyed it and some of the darker humor and taking the PG-13 rating to the limits in terms of animated affair.

Scary Movie 5 is an ugly, ugly movie even by comparison to #2 and #4 which were easily the worst of the franchise. But even worse so, this “movie” rivals the crap Friedberg/Seltzer continually puts out and those are some truly awful films in their own right. I’m astonished that credited writers David Zucker and Pat Proft didn’t downright file a lawsuit to have their names removed. The Blu-ray unfortunately does have respectable audio/video transfers but the bonus features are unsurprisingly minimal in content.
