The Final Word on Physical Media
As a fan of Sofia Coppola, I was disappointed with The Beguiled, a film with paper-thin characters and a rather dull and trite plot that leads to an ineffectual finale. That said, I will give it some points for Farrell and Kidman’s performances and what production design I could see was well done.
The DC Universe: 10th Anniversary Collection is an excellent release that even though some of the animated movies aren’t the best, having them in one place is nice. The only issue I have is, there is going to be more releases and given how physical media is going, not entirely sure there will be a volume 2 release, but who knows.

Atomic Blonde might not have lived up to my expectations but it is still an entertaining Cold War spy thriller excelling both with some well done fight sequences and solid performances from Charlize Theron and James McAvoy.

Suffice to say, Overdrive is not a very good movie and yet I can’t help myself to be reasonably entertained if only for some of the respectable car chases and stunts and at least an tolerable story that kept me engaged for the short running time.
The Emoji Movie is such a cynical, corporate movie with no genuine heart and a voice talent that is completely wasted, I’m honestly not sure how it even got made in the first place, but still managed to make over $200 million worldwide.
Unlocked actually isn’t a terrible movie though it is on the average range of spectrum as the script needed and the villain’s ultimate motive is just nonsensical but at least Noomi Rapace was good in the lead role.
The Show is a movie that thinks it’s some kind of 21st century version of Network or something but instead it bangs you over the head, a bit too much even by satire standards, with its message culminating with a laughable last line.
Kidnap is mercifully under 80-minutes (sans credits) and just an incredibly dumb movie, which would be fine if there was any actual suspense or thrills, two key ingredients for a suspense-thriller after all.
Sniper: Ultimate Kill is by no means great but at the very least entertaining as it knows exactly what kind of a movie it is: campy comedy action. The acting is average but always nice seeing Billy Zane and Tom Berenger reprise their roles.
Westworld: Season One: The Maze isn’t perfect with some stretches meandering at times, but more than making up for it are some excellent performances from the likes of Hopkins, Harris, Newton and others.

Captain from Castile is a fun 1940s-era adventure-drama featuring some fine performances from Tyrone Power and Jean Peters as well as Cesar Romero.
Popcorn is a cheesy but fun and entertaining horror flick from the early 90s. Sure, the acting isn’t anything special but the bloody effects weren’t entirely bad and should make for an enjoyable night to watch with friends.
Psychos in Love is… an unusual little movie that isn’t very well acted, barely has a script, poor/minimal production design and just is bizarre, which is probably why it’s just enough to make it entertaining in a weird way.
Annabelle: Creation, in spite of its flaws, was a pleasant surprise considering the movie is a prequel of another prequel. The film fits in nicely with the two Conjuring films and might even get me to watch the first Annabelle, a movie I really didn’t care much for.
War for the Planet of the Apes is a strong conclusion to a well done trilogy. This one features a fantastic motion-capture performance from Andy Serkis and some excellent visual effects to aid.
