Review: War Dogs 4K UHD/BD + Screen Caps

War Dogs could’ve been better but as it is, the performances by Jonah Hill and Miles Teller were solid, as was Bradley Cooper’s brief role, yet the story never quite hit its mark for me. At the very least, it is worth a rental.

50 Years of Star Trek DVD Review

50 Years of Star Trek isn’t a bad documentary but by the same token, nothing overly special outside of that it features the final interview with the late Leonard Nimoy and perhaps that alone is worth the price admission.

Review: Clean Slate BD + Screen Caps

Clean Slate is a nice comedic vehicle for Dana Carvey playing to his strengths and although the plot doesn’t exactly stretch well for the duration of the running time, and not all of the jokes quite work, it’s still well worth checking out.

Columbus Circle Blu-ray Review

It’s a shame Columbus Circle wasn’t better as it has a good cast and, at its core, at least an interesting premise. Although the script does them no favors, I give a pass to the cast as they seem to struggle through stilted dialogue and contrived situations, especially a finale that flies in the face of what we watched before.

Indian Summer Blu-ray Review

Indian Summer is a great film that hits all the right notes. It not only brings out the nostalgia for anybody who has attended summer camp but the story is well rounded with the right balance of comedy and drama. The cast is also pitch perfect with the highlights coming from Bill Paxton, Diane Lane and Alan Arkin.

Hostage Blu-ray Review

Hostage is an effective enough thriller with Willis fitting into his role of a worn out veteran cop like a glove, heck probably better than in Live Free or Die Hard even, but the story itself doesn’t quite past muster despite some decent performances from the supporting cast.
