In the Heat of the Night (Criterion Collection) Blu-ray Review

In the Heat of the Night is a wonderful and culturally important film from the 1960s and while I don’t think it’s among Sidney Poitier’s best, with To Sir, With Love being my favorite of his, but it still is a great performance alongside Rod Steiger.

Review: Lilies of the Field BD + Screen Caps

Lilies of the Field is a feel-good and very well made drama about the human spirit and features such a fantastic performance from the revered Sidney Poitier who was just at the beginning of his incredible career, or at least prior to iconic roles in To Sir, With Love and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.

Review: To Sir, With Love BD + Screen Caps

To Sir, With Love is a well made drama that is elevated not only with an uplifting story but also powerful, yet not forced, performance by Sidney Poitier. The Blu-ray released by Twilight Time offers up solid video/audio transfers and a fair amount of bonus material compared with other TT releases.
