Although Alice isn’t to me top shelf Woody Allen material, the film does feature a charismatic and engaging performance from Mia Farrow and at least an interesting, fantastical premise.
The Mountain Between Us BD + Screen Caps
The Mountain Between Us isn’t quite a huge misfire but it’s a tale of two movies, one about survival and another about romance and it’s doesn’t quite mesh. However, as a fan of both Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, the film at least was watchable if not forgettable.

The actual Brawl in Cell Block 99 may only take up a few minutes of the two-hour film, yet I found it engrossing with a compelling plot and a main character played by Vince Vaughn you actually care about.

The Apartment BD + Screen Caps
The Apartment is a great drama-romance-comedy classic excelling with the performances by Jack Lemmon (at his absolute best IMO) and Shirley MacClaine, set against the sharp script and direction from Billy Wilder.
DuckTales: Woo-oo! DVD
While I’m not all that crazy for the animation style of this version of DuckTales, I did really enjoy this first episode… and that’s kind of what sucks about this release that it only includes this singular episode rather than the entire season
Terminator 2: Judgement Day 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Review
Terminator 2: Judgment Day might be one of the best science fiction movies ever made not named Star Wars but it is a shame that this was not the perfect 4K UHD release in terms of a DNR-riddled video, though the new featurette and audio were both great.

The Dark Knight Rises 4K + BD Screen Caps
The Dark Knight Rises might be a slight step down from its predecessors in terms of story, but the performances from Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Anne Hathaway were all top notch and it was a satisfying enough conclusion to the trilogy.

The Dark Knight 4K Ultra HD Review
The Dark Knight might just be the closest to superhero movie perfection as they come and although it might be mostly remembered for Heath Ledger’s amazing performance which garnered him an Oscar posthumously, the script is expertly written by Jonathan and Christopher Nolan.
Batman Begins 4K Ultra HD Review
Batman Begins is perhaps one of the best superhero origin movies ever made, maybe slightly behind Superman but ahead of Iron Man. The performances from (most) of the cast is solid and Bale was genius casting helped by a legendary supporting cast.
Pulp BD + Screen Caps
Pulp is a fun 1970s mystery-comedy that works mainly for Michael Caine and Mickey Rooney, with help by the beautiful Nadia Cassini. Don’t know how high this ranks on Caine’s resume but I did chuckle at some of the dry humor.
The Adventurers BD
The Adventurers isn’t great but still a fun enough crime-heist movie mainly working thanks to its stars, Andy Lau and Jean Reno, playing a great foil for Lau and his crew. The action is decent but nothing you really haven’t already seen before.
American Made 4K/BD + BD Screen Caps
American Made is not a top shelf Tom Cruise drama-comedy and I don’t think he does the real Barry Seal injustice enough but despite that, it is entertaining and engaging despite its flaws and worth a rental.
Hell Night: Collector’s Edition BD + Screen Caps
Hell Night is a fun little 1980s flick that felt more like a throwback to 1930s/1940s Universal monster movies and it always helps having Linda Blair in the lead.

Blood Money might not be a terrible movie… on paper, but when you have characters you actively despised, and one you hoped the villain would actually kill, you have a problem. But if you take it as a good bad flick, then it might be worth a rental.

Manhunt: Unabomber is the latest real-life dramatization that has taken the country by storm and it’s a well cast and finely acted one at that with both Sam Worthington and Paul Bettany, along with veteran Chris Noth, turning in good performances.
