The Godfather Trilogy 4K Ultra HD Review

The Godfather Trilogy is another (almost) great set from Paramount with a plethora of bonus features and excellent video and audio transfers. My only qualm is, like the DVD set, they’ve gone back to the cardboard digi-pak which means you’re SOL if any of them get damaged.

Mario Puzo’s The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone Blu-ray Review

Does The Godfather Coda fix all of the issues from Part III? For the most part I’d say yes viewing this as an epilogue does help matters.

Criminal Minds: The Final Season DVD Review

Criminal Minds: The Final Season was certainly letdown and while this was limited to only 10 episodes, the writers didn’t give the cast a whole lot to do and the stories were not all that interesting.

Criminal Minds: Season 13 DVD Review

Criminal Minds: Season 13 is a solid enough season and the ensemble cast with a few new faces from the past couple of seasons that seem to gel nicely together. Now, the stories aren’t always the freshest and I’d imagine it might be time for the series to wrap up.

Alice Blu-ray Review

Although Alice isn’t to me top shelf Woody Allen material, the film does feature a charismatic and engaging performance from Mia Farrow and at least an interesting, fantastical premise.

Criminal Minds: Season 12 DVD

Criminal Minds: Season 12 is a slight step down from previous years due to the drastic cast changes that began with Shemar Moore’s departure in the eleventh season and now the firing of Thomas Gibson. Still, I do enjoy the core cast and the stories are compelling enough.

Review: Joan of Arcadia: The Complete Series DVD

Joan of Arcadia was a short-lived but well acted drama-fantasy highlighted by Amber Tamblyn in what could’ve been a star-making role, alongside Joe Mantegna and Mary Steenburgen. At times it might not have been greatly compelling but it there were entertaining episodes spanning the two seasons.

Review: Criminal Minds: Season 11 DVD

Criminal Minds: Season 11 still has some entertainment value mainly for its cast, though it is a letdown after a nice 10th season, but seeing the departure of another veteran cast member makes me wonder if next year will be its last which will be hurt once Thomas Gibson is gone following his much publicized dismissal.

Review: Criminal Minds: Season 10 DVD

The tenth season of “Criminal Minds”, while not great, is still quite strong and the ensemble cast including newcomer Jennifer Love Hewitt (albeit in her one and only season) makes the series as enjoyable and enduring as it has been going on 10 years. The set itself is fine with a modest amount of bonus material while the video and audio transfers are both well done.

Review: “Criminal Minds”: Season 9 DVD

“Criminal Minds” remains one of my favorite shows today (note: I steer more towards procedural crime dramas) and while the ninth season isn’t predominantly special, there are more than a few solid episodes (‘The Inspiration,’ ‘The Inspired,’ and ‘200’) and even the others are entertaining if not routine.

Review: “Criminal Minds”: Season 8 + Screen Caps

“Criminal Minds”: Season 8 isn’t bad with a few highlights throughout the year including a fun supervillain in the Replicator and Jeanne Tripplehorn’s first foray is semi-satisfying though not an equal replacement for Brewster and some of the stories are getting tiresome blending together like a Friday the 13th sequel. The DVD released by Paramount does offer a respectable amount of features and the audio/video transfers are pretty good.

Review: Criminal Minds: Season 7 DVD

“Criminal Minds” Season 7 might not the best in the series, but considering the hole the producers had to dig out of with the whole Paget Brewster situation, they did a fine job with a reset buttons of sorts. The season also offers up some nice character development for each member of the team to go along with new cases.

The Simpsons: Season 14 Blu-ray Review

“The Simpsons” The Fourteenth Season might not be the best the show has had to offer but there are more than a few laughs to be had. The stories do get a bit repetitive but if you’re a die-hard fan, you’ll probably get more out of it than I had.
