The Craft is actually a fun little teen-witch drama from the mid-90s and even though it’s hardly perfect, the film was entertaining and featured good performances from its core cast.
Willard is a creepy enough adaptation that works thanks to Crispin Glover’s wonderfully creepy performance, perhaps his best role.
Kalifornia is one hell of a road trip of a movie that excels thanks two amazing performances from Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis, and if this film had found any traction, Pitt at the very least should’ve gotten an Oscar nomination.
The Mole People is a cheesy B-level science fiction film from the 1950s and although it’s certainly not good, the movie is not without its charms.
The Return of the Vampire is a great little horror flick from Bela Lugosi and features some solid direction by Lew Landers, really capturing and highlighting the shadows, giving it an almost film noir vibe.
The Vengeance of She, a sequel to the 1965 She, is actually a fun little romp that, albeit not terribly well written, is quite entertaining for its fantastical elements and Olinka Berova was one of the bright spots, though not the best actress.
The Poison Ivy series is no doubt bad and unfortunately not really the good kind of bad outside of a few laughable lines and how some of the sex scenes were “tastefully” shot. On the plus side, for the most part the acting isn’t bad.
Valentine for me, like Urban Legend, isn’t a slasher-horror classic but I will admit there are at least few fun elements and I suspect if you were to watch this in a group setting, the experience might be a better one. However, this “Collector’s Edition” is a near home run from Shout Factory.
The Plague of Zombies is an okay little horror movie with an interesting enough premise and has enough of the cheese factor to make it entertaining enough.
Cobra isn’t a very good movie… at all and rather a second (or third) rate Stallone action-thriller with minimal to no character development and an utterly ridiculous plot, or more to the point villain(s) and motives.
I’m not especially fond of the Howling franchise and this third entry, which doesn’t have much in common with the first two films, has a few cheesy scenes and an amusing premise that did make this at least an entertaining fantasy-horror flick.
Although I’m sure The Mangler has its fanbase that has grown over the years, this horror-comedy didn’t do much for me, mainly with some over-the-top acting on the parts of Robert Englund and Ted Levine, even in a movie where a machine comes to life and chases people down…
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is a film I genuinely do not know if I hated because it was bad or loved because it was batsh*t insane, though I’m currently leaning toward the former.
Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is one hell of a good bad movie thanks primarily to Eric Freeman’s hammy yet still amazing, may I say eye-brow raising, performance with one memorable line that has stood the test of time.
This Critters Collection is another nicely done work from Shout through their Scream Factory line featuring two solid movies and two… not so good ones. The transfers are all relatively well done and the features packaged together were fantastic.
