Wonder Woman 1984 was a disappointment, especially when compared with the first film and while I had plenty of issues with some of the story elements, I can’t say it’s bad and probably worthy of a rental or outright purchase to add to ones superhero collection.

Godzilla (v.2014) isn’t a bad movie, not by any stretch, but it didn’t quite meet its full potential. The visual effects are great and when Godzilla finally shows up on screen, 59-minutes in no less, the energy picks up only to get bogged down again with the human element.

Elysium doesn’t exactly reach the potential since the actual Elysium only makes up less than half the film, the rest taking place on Earth. That being said, the action is well done and the film did manage to entertain me.
Tremors is a hell of a fun and all around entertaining creature-feature that has a solid ensemble cast led way by Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and Michael Gross, the latter a mainstay with the franchise.
Vigilante is an imperfect but satisfying enough revenge-thriller that greatly excels thanks to its two leads with Robert Forster and Fred Williamson shining bright in their respective storylines and their few scenes together.
Tenet isn’t one of Christopher Nolan’s better movies but there are some interesting elements and the technical aspects like the visual effects, are top notch and although it’s hard to wrap my head around the concept while watching, it is unique.
Blade is far from perfect and has moments that scream 1990s in its editing but I do like Snipes in the lead and the movie as a whole was somewhat entertaining, warts and all.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is still an incredible feet all these years later and even though I have watched it more than few times, it holds up exceptionally well (side for a couple CGI moments that look off) with a wonderful ensemble cast.

I wasn’t totally enamored with The Hobbit Trilogy in my initial viewings and the extended versions didn’t really change my mind, so the same issues remain although I can still appreciate some of the technical aspects at least.

It’s easy to see why Mad Max has reached cult status, even with the low budget, director George Miller, along with star Mel Gibson’s on-screen charisma, is still very well regarded 40 years later.
Coming to America isn’t as much of a repeat viewing compared with Murphy’s others like Beverly Hills Cop or Trading Places, but it’s still a whole lot of fun.
Collateral might not be an overly ambitious crime-drama from Michael Mann but it was a nice, slow ride (no pun intended) thanks to two great performances by Cruise and Foxx.
Fury isn’t the best war drama around, not even in the top 5, but it’s still well made and features a great cast, with Brad Pitt delivering a fine performance (one of his best in some time), that elevates the writing while Ayer’s direction keeps the pacing just right.
Top Gun is a wildly entertaining action-romance featuring the ever so charming Tom Cruise, surrounded by a solid supporting cast including McGinnis, Edwards and Kilmer, directed by the late Tony Scott.
