Sometimes these modernized adaptations of classics can work or at least be bizarre and out there (see Romeo+Julet or 2000’s Hamlet) but it doesn’t seem Oliver Twist in this setting quite works on any level. As a heist film it’s bland and as suspense-thriller lacks any tension.
The Naked Spur debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection receiving a new video restoration and stars James Stewart, Janet Leigh, Robert Ryan and Ralph Meeker and is out September 21st.

I’m not entirely sure how producers can right the ship but with a really mediocre first season and downright messy season two; the writing is probably the biggest culprit more so than the production value, which does sometimes look rather cheap.

Breakdown is a simple but effective suspense-thriller with an amiable performance from Kurt Russell showing his on-screen charisma with very little to work with in terms of character development.

This is an odd-pairing, even under the “Girls Night In Double Feature” edition as one is a romance-drama with fantasy while the other is just a typical romance-comedy, but even so both films are alright and at a cheap price worth picking up.
The Shawshank Redemption is a movie I really should re-watch every other year if not every year as it’s an extraordinary and perfect film from the script to direction to the phenomenal performances from Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.

Mare of Easttown arrives on Blu-ray and DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The mystery-suspense-drama stars Kate Winslet (who also executive produced), Julianne Nicholason, Jean Smart, Guy Pearce and Evan Peters.
F9: The Fast Saga might have some insane scenes but not quite in the good way. There are some okay little moments like seeing some old character reunite, however this is missing the magic with the series’ height: the chemistry with Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker.

Rad is a fun, and just a touch dated, sports teen drama that is fairly entertaining for what it is. For the most art the acting isn’t actually too bad and there is a fun time to be had watching amongst friends.
