Inglourious Basterds 4K Ultra HD Review

Inglourious Basterds is a standout film amongst the other greats from Quentin Tarantino with sharp dialogue and incredible performances, especially from Chrisoph Waltz.

300 4K Ultra HD Review

300 is a movie that I never really immensely enjoyed back when it was released and even today, found it to be great to look at, but little emotion behind the amazing visuals, though some of the fight scenes were pretty bad-ass.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is by no means terrible but it certainly is a weak ending to a franchise and the main issue with this movie is lacked any real emotion, even though the technical aspects weren’t bad.

Alien: Covenant Blu-ray Review

Alien: Covenant had plenty of potential as it starts off well enough before taking a nosedive into derivative territory, filled with idiotic characters, and an utterly stupid finale.

Review: Song to Song 4K/BD + Screen Caps

I can’t stress at how much I loathed Song to Song. I’ve seen plenty of bad movies, but none of them have had me in so much pain to sit through since, well, Malick’s To the Wonder, with only a few very minor redeeming values with the performances by a talented cast.

Review: Trespass Against Us BD + Screen Caps

Trespass Against Us was on the disappointing side story-wise as I didn’t quite find it compelling but due to the performances by Fassbender and Gleeson, it certainly makes it at least watchable if not also on the forgettable side on the whole.

Review: The Light Between Oceans BD + Screen Caps

The Light Between Oceans isn’t half bad as heart-tugging rom-dramas go and it is better written and acted compared to your typical Nicolas Sparks schlock, but at the same time, despite a talented cast and some great scenes, I didn’t find this nearly as emotional and I can’t see much replay value.

Review: X-Men: Apocalypse UHD/BD + Screen Caps

X-Men: Apocalypse was a pretty big disappointment for me following Days of Future Past and while some of the technical parts were well done, the rest had a very stale vibe with similar story elements rehashed from the first X-Men movie way back in 2000.

Review: X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut BD + Screen Caps

X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut, while not as strong or tightly paced as the theatrical version is still well worth checking out especially for fans. The Blu-ray released by Fox is a bit of a mixed bag. Yes, the audio and video are incredible, there’s a fine selection of bonus material but I’m not sure why they didn’t port over the features from the first release.
