Escape from L.A. 4K Ultra HD Review

Escape from L.A. seems to blend together 1980s and 1990s cheese with a mixture of success while others are just too much, though Kurt Russell is still great as Snake. I will say, this one at least does have some replay value.

Big Fish 4K Ultra HD Review

Big Fish is perhaps one of my favorite films from Tim Burton, one with a wonderful emotional core and features great performances from Albert Finney and Ewan McGregor.

Tales from the Darkside: The Movie – Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Tales from the Darkside: The Movie has two decent stories, one was dull and the other, the wrap-around, so-so. Still, it’s an anthology film worth checking out.

30 Rock: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review

30 Rock is a hilarious show, probably the funniest one I’ve come across since Seinfeld and Frasier. The ensemble was pitch-perfectly cast headlined by Tina Fey and even Alec Baldwin, along with Jack McBrayer, Jane Krakowski and Tracy Morgan.

The Big Lebowski 4K Ultra HD Review

The Big Lebowski has garnered a huge following over the course of 20 years and it’s easy to see why with some easy to quote lines that, often times, relates so well to real life. I’ve never been a huge fan of the movie though have grown to appreciate it over time.

Transformers: The Last Knight 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

Transformers: The Last Knight is another poor entry into a franchise that just won’t die, though its $605M worldwide gross was the lowest so there is hope. In any case, I didn’t feel this was as bad as Age of Extinction but that’s not saying much.

Review: Romance & Cigarettes BD + Screen Caps

Romance & Cigarettes is an odd ball of a film, a mixture of genres and while I can appreciate what director John Turturro attempted to do, it just didn’t quite work but with a cats like this headlined by the great James Gandolfini, to go along with Susan Sarandon and Kate Winslet, might make at least watchable.

Review: Boardwalk Empire – The Complete Series BD + Screen Caps

“Boardwalk Empire” is yet another great show from HBO and although it’s not up to par with “The Sopranos,” “Deadwood” or “Game of Thrones,” that standard is hard to meet. That being said, I will say the ensemble cast ranging from Steve Buscemi to Michael Shannon is one of the best and the performances all around, in conjunction with quality writing beginning with Terence Winter, is top notch.

Monsters University 3D Blu-ray Review

Monsters University might be one of the weaker outings from Disney/Pixar since Cars, yet there’s enough here to make it an enjoyable experience for the entire family. The return of Billy Crystal and John Goodman is great, the animation is still absolutely amazing and the story is good even if it heavily borrows from other college films, although I suppose one could argue it was paying homage to those movies.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone Blu-ray Review

Although hardly the perfect comedy, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone still has plenty of laughs going for it. Steve Carell is more or less Michael Scott, and any other character he’s played in his other comedic efforts, but the supporting cast gives good performances and I for one managed to laugh more than a few times and was all around amused by the film.

Spy Kids 2 Blu-ray Review

It’s another installment in the franchise and Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams continues to be a fun action-filled adventure for the kids. However, this time around I wasn’t as enthralled with the plot as it became tiring to get through. That said, there are far worse films out there and much worse for families so it’s still a passable movie.
