Fire in the Sky is an okay science fiction drama that’s basic on a dubious true story, though I can still admire the performance from Robert Patrick and special effects work by ILM as their alien design was pretty cool.

Very Bad Things Blu-ray Review

Very Bad Things is one hell of a dark comedy and although I normally don’t care for that subgenre, I did laugh quite a few times and felt a tinsy-bit bad doing so. Also features a fun ensemble cast with Christian Slater easily being the standout.

Mile 22 had a good premise, along the lines of The Bourne franchise, completely ruined by poor editing and obnoxious and annoying characters that were absolutely unlikeable, not sure what Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg were thinking.

Review: Ballers – The Complete Second Season BD + Screen Caps

Ballers: The Complete Second Season is a lot of fun especially if you’re either a fan of the NFL or Dwayne Johnson. The stories generally are compelling and this kind of material, given he was a player for the semi-professional Miami U, is right in Johnson’s wheelhouse.

Review: Deepwater Horizon 4K UHD/BD + Screen Caps

Deepwater Horizon is an intense action-disaster flick that takes the genre to the next level considering it’s based on actual events. The performances by Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell are top notch while John Malkovich was a bit distracting but still an effective antagonist.

Review: Shocker BD + Screen Caps

Shocker is one of Wes Craven’s relatively unknown gems. It has an interesting and fun premise that allows Mitch Peleggi, who I more often see playing reserved characters, to go all out as a sadistic serial killer combined with Peter Berg as the pair beam (for the lack of a better word) into television shows.
