The Protégé 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

The Protégé isn’t quite as good compared to Anna but I still was consistently entertained even with some of the flaws, which were overcome thanks to solid direction from Martin Campbell and a good core cast with Michael Keaton, Maggie Q and Samuel L. Jackson.

The Con Is On Blu-ray Review + Screen Caps

The Con Is On took 3 years to find distribution but it should have stayed in what vault it was found in as it was just an all around awful crime-comedy, failing in both respects, which is a shame as it is a respectable ensemble cast.

Mission: Impossible III 4K Ultra HD Review + BD Screen Caps

Mission: Impossible III is a nice change-up from the lame sequel with a better emotional core for Ethan Hunt as a character and Cruise seemed far more at ease in the role compared to M:I-2.

Review: Allegiant BD + Screen Caps

Allegiant is the latest mundane entry in the Divergent Series and while I didn’t think it was classically bad and not an original moment from the production to the visual effects, heavily borrowing from other dystopian-set movies, I can’t say was bored and I at least did care about the Tris character.

Review: Insurgent 4K UDH

I know plenty have hated the Divergent Series thus far and although hardly great, I found portions at least semi-entertaining but that’s about it. Unlike Hunger Games: Catching Fire and to a lesser extent Mockingjay Part 1, Insurgent just kind of “is”.

Review: Divergent 4K UHD

Divergent is what I’d like to call a ‘nice’ movie. There’s nothing here terrible offensive but at the same time, it doesn’t break new ground either. The direction is more than adequate and the performance by Shailene Woodley is strong. But for all the good, the story structure is odd.

Unlike Hunger Games: Catching Fire and to a lesser extent Mockingjay Part 1, Insurgent just kind of “is”. There’s nothing really memorable and the performances are limited thanks to a screenplay that could’ve been better.

Divergent Blu-ray Review

Divergent is what I’d like to call a ‘nice’ movie. There’s nothing here terrible offensive but at the same time, it doesn’t break new ground either. The direction is more than adequate and the performances are good. But for all the good, the story structure is odd with the bulk of the time relegated to the training with another plotline almost an afterthought taking over the third act.
