The Final Countdown is a thinly plotted but ultimately entertaining sci-fi mystery drama featuring the legendary Kirk Douglas in the lead. While it’s more or less an expanded episode of the old Twilight Zone series, it’s still a fun time.

The Hero isn’t a movie that will be remembered for its sometimes clichés-filled plot or the style, but Sam Elliott gives a soulful and brilliant performance that I hope is remembered come awards time and the supporting cast, Prepon and Offerman especially, turn in solid work.
Not going out on a limb to say that Donnie Darko is a transformative kind of movie, one that even so many years later still holds up so well and features tremendous performances from most involved.
The Graduate is probably one of the more quintessential movies of the 60s probably featuring some of the best direction, not to mention editing, ever with incredible pacing and blocking. Combine that with perfect casting from Dustin Hoffman as an unlikely leading man to the nuanced performance by Anne Bancroft, this is one hell of a film that holds so well today.
