Bound: The Criterion Collection 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

Bound is still my favorite of The Wachowskis movies, even above The Matrix, which itself has also aged quite well. This one has two amazing performances from Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano for his part was wonderfully chaotic.

The Fugitive 4K Ultra HD Review

The Fugitive remains one of the best action-thrillers I’ve seen in many years and easily a standout of TV to screen adaptations. Despite being 130-minutes long, the film flies by and utilizes each minute with little filler.

The Goonies 4K Ultra HD Review

Although I have not fully grasped the cultural influence The Goonies has had over the past 35 years, I still found the movie to be a fun, adventurous romp with one of the better ensemble gathered who had such great chemistry with one another.

The Matrix 4K Ultra HD + BD Screen Caps

The Matrix isn’t as philosophical as it wants to portray itself, and there are certainly silly moments, but it is still a lot of fun and most of the visual effects still hold up rather well nearly 20 years later.

Review: Midnight Run BD + Screen Caps

Review: The Perfect Match BD + Screen Caps

The Perfect Man isn’t your run-of-the-mill romantic comedy so that’s a plus, unfortunately it’s not very funny in spite of a well rounded cast. Still, I guess I’ve seen worse and might say it’s worth a rental but not much more than that.

Review: Bad Boys 1 & 2 BD + Screen Caps

Bad Boys I & II is another bang-bang series from Michael Bay and although I disliked the sequel, the original at least is enjoyable enough. The pairing of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence offers fun chemistry between the two and the action scenes are at least unique in some sense although done to death by Bay himself to the point where you’re not sure if you’re watching Bad Boys or Transformers.

The Final Terror Blu-ray Review

The Final Terror actually isn’t a terrible movie. It’s low budget and the acting isn’t always the best, though it is fun seeing Daryl Hannah and Joe Pantoliano before they were big, and some of the shots done by Andrew Davis (The Fugitive) were quite impressive.

The Fugitive Blu-ray Review

The Fugitive remains one of the best action-thrillers I’ve seen in many years and easily a standout of TV to screen adaptations. Despite being 130-minutes long, the film flies by and utilizes each minute with little filler. The performances from Ford and Jones are phenomenal even though neither of them shared more than a few minutes of screen time together.
