No Escape, starring Ray Liotta, Lance Henriksen, Stuart Wilson and Ernie Hudson, and directed by Martin Campbell, comes to Blu-ray and includes new interviews and archival featurettes and more.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a satisfying third film (can even call this a trilogy) and while the fan service was just a tad much, I still enjoyed the film and there was enough there where it stands on its own.
The Watcher/The Skeleton Key: Double Feature arrives on Blu-ray from Mill Creek Entertainment. These movies feature the talents of Kate Hudson, James Spader, Ernie Hudson and Keanu Reeves.
This Ghostbusters two-film set is not perfect but it’s pretty close with a decent selection of bonus material, though the MST3K-style commentary is still only a DVD exclusive but the audio and video transfers for both films are great. Given the low SRP, this is a set worth picking up if only to have it in one package.
Kind of forgotten in the wake of James Cameron’s The Abyss, Leviathan is an OK if not uneven sci-fi adventure. The cast is good and some of the creature effects aren’t bad either, but at the same time it comes across as a rip-off of Alien sans suspense and compelling storytelling.
Ghostbusters is a fantastic sci-fi/supernatural comedy which has stood the test of time quite well and is just as entertaining when I first saw it back in the 1980s. As far as this “Mastered in 4K” re-release, I will say the video is most certainly a big improvement over the original Blu-ray release.
