Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood Blu-ray Review

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood may not be Tarantino’s strongest film though I did enjoy this experience more than The Hateful Eight thanks to his attention to detail for the era along with some fun performances by both DiCaprio and Pitt.

Chappaquiddick Blu-ray Review + Screen Caps

Chappaquiddick is an imperfect drama that probably tells the story of Ted Kennedy and the car crash that killed a young woman as best as they could with the information known. The direction itself though wasn’t anything noteworthy but this is probably worth a rental.

The ‘Burbs: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

The ‘Burbs is one fun comedy with a dash of horror that excels primarily due to Tom Hanks’ charms versus anything with the script or even the character. Not sure why I hadn’t seen it before, but the replay value is high.

Hush Hush… Sweet Charlotte is a gem of a drama (almost film noir in some respects) of a film headlined by two amazing performances by Bette Davis, who reunites with director Robert Aldrich, and Olivia de Havilland.

Review: The Hateful Eight BD + Screen Caps

The Hateful Eight is easily my least favorite of Tarantino’s films and while technically speaking it is a masterpiece especially with a couple of the performances (Russell and Leigh in particular), the cinematography and score, the rest was an utter chore to sit through and it felt every bit of its nearly three hour length.

Nebraska Blu-ray Review

Nebraska is a slow developing yet poignant drama-comedy about aging, familial relationships and looking at the past. It’s not quite as good as Payne’s previous works like Sideways, but well worth watching especially for the performances from Bruce Dern who is absolutely incredible and Will Forte, working well off of Dern.
