I know Joseph W. Sarno has a minor cult following, but can’t say I’m much of a fan and Red Roses of Passion didn’t change that opinion, although Patricia McNair did make for a good lead with a plot that didn’t exactly capture my attention.
NCIS: The Fourteenth Season DVD
NCIS: The Fourteenth Season does take a bit of a step back following Weatherly’s departure but the charm is still there and the newcomers weren’t bad, although Jennifer Esposito is a one-and-done as she left and her absence will likely be resolved with a single sentence.
Night of the Living Dead BD + Screen Caps
Night of the Living Dead is a great Romero zombie flick and all, but this Blu-ray release through Mill Creek was weak. The video and audio transfers were pretty bad and no features were included.

Suspect BD + Screen Caps
Suspect is actually a pretty good 1980s suspense/thriller featuring good performances by Cher and Dennis Quaid, as well as Liam Neeson.
Transformers: The Last Knight 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review
Transformers: The Last Knight is another poor entry into a franchise that just won’t die, though its $605M worldwide gross was the lowest so there is hope. In any case, I didn’t feel this was as bad as Age of Extinction but that’s not saying much.

Taken: Season One BD + Screen Caps
At the core, there is plenty of potential with a Taken television series and while the first season was pretty bad in terms of the writing, with the apparent big changes for the second season, hopefully the course will be corrected.
The Devil’s Candy BD + Screen Caps
The Devil’s Candy doesn’t entirely break new ground in the supernatural horror realm, it is still well done film written and directed by Sean Byrne, a rising talent who I hope gets more opportunities.
Beatriz at Dinner DVD
Beatriz at Dinner excels more on the performances by Salma Hayek and John Lithgow rather than the plot or screenplay writing or even any genuine laughs, as this is more drama than comedy.
Lawman BD + Screen Caps
Lawman is yet another western that really is undistinguishable with the others in the genre, but I did find it entertaining if only for the cast led by Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan, as well as Robert Duvall in a smaller role.
Hour of the Gun BD + Screen Caps
Hour of the Gun is a good telling of the Earp/Clanton feud and features some solid performances by James Garner and Jason Robards who work well off one another.
September BD + Screen Caps
September is the latest Woody Allen movie to get the Blu-ray treatment from Twilight Time and as a drama, it’s not the best from the legendary filmmaker but the acting is quite good and some of the writing is sharp.
Gun Fury BD + Screen Caps
Gun Fury is a run-of-the-mill western-adventure film made fun with the performances by Rock Hudson and Donna Reed, but not much else was all that memorable.
Beneath the 12-Mile Reef BD + Screen Caps
Beneath the 12-Mile Reef isn’t bad with a Romeo and Juliet like story… in Florida. The film mostly excels with Robert Wagner’s charms rather than an interesting plot.
