The ‘Burbs is one fun comedy with a dash of horror that excels primarily due to Tom Hanks’ charms versus anything with the script or even the character. Not sure why I hadn’t seen it before, but the replay value is high.

Pitch Perfect 3 is the conclusion to a trilogy that honestly didn’t need one. I can’t precisely remember why I enjoyed the first two only to say that I did (according to my ratings on IMDb) but this one was pointless and even the music doesn’t overcome a disorganized plot, even though the cast at least seemed to be having a good time.

The Age of Innocence is an all around rich experience between the costumes, production/sets and a fine cast led way by Daniel Day-Lewis and Michelle Pfeiffer. It certainly was an unusual choice for Martin Scorsese yet like any master filmmaker, really pulled it off.

What Suspiria lacks in substance, both in terms of story and characters, it more than makes up for in incredible and beautiful production design and lighting, as well as some well-tensed scenes.
LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: The Flash is the latest in these DTV movies and although this isn’t entirely a laugh-riot or anything, especially compared with The LEGO Movie, it was still highly enjoyable with plenty of in-jokes for the DC fans out there.

Children of the Corn: Runaway is merely the latest sequel of a long-running franchise that had an okay first movie while this one was rather weak and, worse yet, a bit on the dull side which then turned into confusion.

Even though I did find Justice League entertaining enough, there’s no denying there was a certain amount of disappointment leading to the build-up and not being able to see what was originally intended, not to mention the deleted footage seen in the various trailers. If you go in just expecting a insubstantial popcorn flick, it’s fine, but it certainly did not live up to the title.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon was a surprisingly fun take on the slasher horror genre that at times was actually quite clever, only a shame it hasn’t caught on enough to warrant a sequel.

Faces Places is a charming documentary focusing on artists Agnès Varda and JR, each with their own style and generations apart, and yet they work well opposite one another making the journey so enjoyable and in conjunction with some beautiful landscapes and artistry.
No Escape is an all around entertaining film perfect for a Saturday movie night. No, it doesn’t make you think or have any profound performances but the acting isn’t bad with Owen Wilson serving as a fine everyman type of character and Pierce Brosnan in his small part is a lot of fun. This is probably worthy of a rental.
The Disaster Artist is quite the interesting insight into how The Room came into existence, though if you’re looking for answers as to who Tommy Wiseau actually is, you’ll walk away with many more questions than answers.
The Drowning Pool isn’t as strong of a movie compared to Harper but works mainly for Paul Newman once again and there was at least one fun set piece for the titled pool as the villain attempts to kill Harper.
Harper is a fun 1960s detective film that harkened back to the 1940s and succeeds with some sharp writing but mostly on Paul Newman’s charm and incredible charisma.
Inferno is an interesting documentary that filmmaker Serge Bromberg attempted to re-create the unfinished Henri-Georges Clouzot 1964 film that was only recently found, though not even the audio track could be found.
