She’s the Man Blu-ray Review

She’s the Man might not exactly be some teen comedy classic but had a few moments here and there and was a launching pad for Channing Tatum. The new Blu-ray comes from Paramount released on March 3rd.

I Am Vengeance: Retaliation Blu-ray Review

I Am Vengeance: Retaliation had the hallmarks to be a fun and light action-thriller and instead is a monotonous and tedious mess not helped by a lead who, at least with this material, doesn’t quite have the charisma compared to his wrestling actor cohorts.

X-Men: 3-Film Collection 4K Ultra HD + BD Screen Caps

This X-Men: 3-Film Collection is okay and does come with good video upgrade and already solid audio, however the big downside with this set is that the studio failed to port over the second discs for each film which contained some expansive documentaries.

Escape Plan 4K Ultra HD + BD Screen Caps

Escape Plan is a fun throwback to the 80s and 90s action genre culminated with starring the two biggest actors of that era. Although neither one of them are at the top of their game, this is still an enjoyable flick well worth at least one viewing if only to see Stallone and Schwarzenegger fight.

Review: Cross Wars BD + Screen Caps

Cross Wars is just an all around bad movie. The acting is poor however they’re not helped with a shoddy script in conjunction with some laughable visual effects. All of that wouldn’t be so bad if this had the fun factor, it was anything but.

Review: Gridlocked BD + Screen Caps

Gridlocked is probably one of the more surprising movies based on expectations since my history with direct-to-video flicks hasn’t been the greatest. Sure, the acting isn’t anything special but Dominic Purcell and Stephen Lang serve well as the protagonist and antagonist respectively.

Review: Absolution BD + Screen Caps

Absolution is yet another bad movie in an arsenal of bad movies over the past decade for Steven Seagal who continues to mumble through his lines and looks utterly uninterested in the material, not that the plot is anything noteworthy, however. This is typical DTV fodder and will be in the cheap bin in no time.

Review: Gutshot Straight DVD

Gutshot Straight maybe had the best intentions at being a solid crime-drama but instead falls far short with a half-baked plot, some so-so acting despite a respectable supporting cast led by Stephen Lang and Ted Levine, and shoddy editing that stymied any momentum early on.

Review: Throwback DVD

Throwdown is plain and simple a bad movie, which I guess is a bit disappointing if only the DVD cover at least looked professional and I am a fan of Vinnie Jones especially when he’s given a more substantial role. Instead we got some false advertising and an amateurish movie on the whole.

EuroTrip Blu-ray Review

EuroTrip wasn’t a favorite of mine when it originally came out in 2004 but in the years since, I’ve come to really enjoy it and find the comedy, albeit obvious, to be quite funny and a cast that have a strong chemistry.

Ambushed Blu-ray Review

Ambushed isn’t a terrible movie but one that also is guilty of some false advertising prominently featuring Dolph Lundgren, Vinnie Jones and Randy Couture on the cover despite none of them being in the film for more than 15-minutes.
