Blumhouse of Horrors: 10-Movie Collection Blu-ray Review

All of these films in this Blumhouse of Horrors: 10-Movie Collection have been released before. This is a good set to receive as it is a space saver from owning these individually and the price per movie isn’t bad, however you do have a few stinkers.

Ma Blu-ray Review

Ma is a movie that has a story that seems to come straight out of the 1990s and today probably would probably air on the Lifetime Movie Network. Octavia Spencer for her part was fine though Diana Silvers served well in an otherwise forgettable thriller.

Small Town Crime BD + Screen Caps

Small Town Crime was one of the better films of this early 2018 year that excels thanks to a strong cast led way by John Hawkes with special note toward Robert Forster and Clifton Collins Jr. in smaller roles.

Review: The Shack BD + Screen Caps

The Shack admittedly isn’t my kind of movie but it’s perfectly safe and does have a positive message while not getting overly preachy compared with other religious movies that have inundated cinema in the last few years.

Review: Hidden Figures BD

Review: Insurgent 4K UDH

I know plenty have hated the Divergent Series thus far and although hardly great, I found portions at least semi-entertaining but that’s about it. Unlike Hunger Games: Catching Fire and to a lesser extent Mockingjay Part 1, Insurgent just kind of “is”.

Review: Zootopia BD + Screen Caps

Zootopia is on the heavy-handed side of its message however it’s a good one that would be beneficial to kids (and their parents for that matter). The animation is fantastic and the humor mostly works as does the voice talent involved.

Review: Insurgent BD + Screen Caps

I know plenty have hated the Divergent Series thus far and although hardly great, I found portions at least semi-entertaining but that’s about it. Unlike Hunger Games: Catching Fire and to a lesser extent Mockingjay Part 1, Insurgent just kind of “is”. There’s nothing really memorable and the performances are limited thanks to a screenplay that could’ve been better.
