The Godfather Trilogy 4K Ultra HD Review

The Godfather Trilogy is another (almost) great set from Paramount with a plethora of bonus features and excellent video and audio transfers. My only qualm is, like the DVD set, they’ve gone back to the cardboard digi-pak which means you’re SOL if any of them get damaged.

Review: 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag BD + Screen Caps

8 Heads in a Duffel Bag is a movie I remember seeing advertising for back in 1997, and no wonder with a distinct title like that. As a movie, there are some darkly fun scenes mainly for Joe Pesci who is in his element in the Mafioso role.

Where the Boys Are, on the surface looks like another 1960s-era beach party films but is a excellent coming-of-age drama/comedy and features some wonderful and even heartfelt performances from Dolores Hart, George Hamilton and Paula Prentiss.

Review: Roots (1977) BD + Screen Caps

“Roots” was a phenomenon for television and still relates so well today. Featuring top-notch performances from the likes of LeVar Burton and Louis Gossett Jr. amongst many others, this is well worth watching even for younger viewers though I suspect some will navigate toward the recent remake.
