Shameless is the kind of show I can kind lose interest but find my way back every so often, mainly because William H. Macy is so damn good as the reckless loveable loser and the supporting cast all do quite well in their respective roles.
Unlike the recently released Transformers: The Last Knight, which was a dull movie in itself, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was at least passably boring and was mercifully only two hours long. But like Transformers, this franchise just needs to come to a close as neither is very creative or, worse yet, entertaining.
The Moderns is an environmentally rich drama that has shades of Robert Altman which makes sense as director Alan Rudolph was a disciple of his, and even a little Woody Allen in some respects. It’s not the most fascinating tale or anything but the performances by both Keith Carradine and Linda Fiorentino were both top great.
