Chappaquiddick is an imperfect drama that probably tells the story of Ted Kennedy and the car crash that killed a young woman as best as they could with the information known. The direction itself though wasn’t anything noteworthy but this is probably worth a rental.

Sex, Lies, and Videotape is a strong feature film debut for Steven Soderbergh and features some great performances, primarily Andie MacDowell and James Spader. This is well worth watching for anyone who appreciates a well written character drama.

The Equalizer has its share of problems, primarily with the pacing though some more editing would’ve made for a strong picture, but even so, the film does ride on Denzel Washington’s charisma and screen presence and that alone makes this at least worth a rental.

The Con Is On took 3 years to find distribution but it should have stayed in what vault it was found in as it was just an all around awful crime-comedy, failing in both respects, which is a shame as it is a respectable ensemble cast.

I had seen Memoirs of an Invisible Man back upon its release either in the theaters or on VHS but never since, and seeing it again 25 years later, and although yes the visual effects aren’t entirely impressive by modern day standards, it still wasn’t too back for that era while the story was a lot of fun to watch.

Ready Player One was an all around fun and entertaining sci-fi action-adventure from Steven Spielberg that does a wonderful job of throwing nostalgia in your face, but the filmmakers seemed to be having a hell of a time with the material, and the story itself was compelling.

Overall, Truth or Dare was a really dumb movie which would be fine if it had any sense of fun, but like so many of these teen-horror movies that have come before, it lacks any of it. I can’t even recommend this as a rental.

Disobedience never exactly reaches the dramatic heights filmmaker Sebastián Lelio likely wanted, as I didn’t find it all that emotionally absorbing, but the performances from Weisz, McAdams and Nivola are all something to behold.
Traffik was a surprisingly effective thriller though mainly for the performance from its lead, and producer, Paula Patton more so than the writing or attempts at being a message film about sex trafficking, for which there are better films that do a better job.
Rampage is not great yet still a fun and entertaining enough action film that features Dwayne Johnson pretty much playing a similar character to that featured in San Andreas, but still his charisma does go a long way.

Midnight Cowboy for me wasn’t entirely the classic in my eyes, yet still is understandable for its cultural impact and propelled by two incredible performances by Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight, both equally deserving of their Best Actor Academy Award nominations.

The Addiction is anything but perfect but still a unique take on the vampire subgenre with a terrific performance by Lili Taylor as well as Christopher Walken in his small part.
