Silver Bullet: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Silver Bullet is by no means a good movie or even all that entertaining, though the acting from Busey and Haim were good and the effects work was fairly impressive considering the time period.

Big Trouble in Little China: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Big Trouble in Little China isn’t one of my favorite films of the 80s nor is it one of my favorites from John Carpenter, but despite some lackluster character development and a plot that feels a bit disjointed, ignoring all of that makes for a fun flick.

The Omen Collection: Deluxe Edition Blu-ray Review

This is another great release from Shout Factory and although some of the films are far from perfect and even taking into consideration that I’m generally not always the biggest fan of the supernatural-horror genre, this is still worth picking up for any completists out there.

Fear No Evil Blu-ray Review

Fear No Evil is not a great movie and certainly rather cheesy especially when it came to the make-up effects but there is a certain amount of fun to be had even if, personally, these supernatural-horror films aren’t my thing.

Vampires: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Vampires isn’t a great horror movie and certainly not top shelf in John Carpenter’s vast resume, but it does have its moments, including a fun performance from James Woods, and an interesting, even unique, origin of the vampires.

Vice Squad: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Vice Squad is a very unique and somewhat underappreciated crime-thriller with some truly uncomfortable scenes but solid acting from Season Hubley and, especially, Wings Hauser who delivers a chillingly masochistic performance.

Silent Hill: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Silent Hill is certainly one of the better video game adaptations, and while that might not say much considering how much crap has been out there, I will say there are some genuinely good things about this one.

The Green Inferno: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

The Green Inferno certainly has its moments and not entirely unwatchable, but it does have many of the staples of an Eli Roth film, most notable wholly unlikeable characters, though I did enjoy Lorenza Izzo’s performance.

The Entity Blu-ray Review

The Entity to say the least is a unique and pretty graphic supernatural-thriller that features a brave performance from Barbara Hershey and although it’s far from perfect, definitely worth checking out.

When a Stranger Calls Back Blu-ray Review

When a Stranger Calls Back isn’t as good as the original, at least from my memory, but does contain a few genuinely thrilling scenes starting out with the first 20-mintes which was well shot and acted.

Superstition Blu-ray Review

Admittedly these supernatural-horror movies aren’t generally my thing and Superstition  is no different and despite some okay performances and the filmmakers doing the best they can with a thin script, this is not even close to be worthy of a rental.

The Manitou Blu-ray Review

The Manitou is a ridiculous and just dumb fantasy-horror movie that had some okay performances all things considered, but some laughably bad moments, enough probably making this on the good-bad range.

The Deadly Mantis Blu-ray Review

The Deadly Mantis is a bit of a lame 1950s sci-fi-fantasy film that is more boring though some of the small scale scenes with the mantis wasn’t half bad at least, it was far more interesting watching the “MST3K” episode included than the movie itself…
