Resident Evil: Retribution 4K Ultra HD Review

Resident Evil: Retribution is by far the weaker film of the franchise but not completely awful as I still enjoy watching Jovovich and her physicality with the role, kicking all sorts of butt and taking out zombies and monster creatures.

Review: Dark Was the Night BD + Screen Caps

Dark Was the Night is a nice, if not uneven, creature feature that is well worth at least a rental thanks in large part to the underrated character actor Kevin Durand and a half-decent yet compelling story. The Blu-ray offers good video/audio transfers while the bonus material is limited.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Blu-ray Review

I might take some heat for saying this, but I didn’t think The Mortal Instruments was that bad of a movie. No, the cast wasn’t exactly the best with a few roles needing re-casting, but the story was at least half-coherent, if not sloppy, and Lily Collins for her part seemed to have carried the main role fairly well.

Resident Evil: Retribution Blu-ray Review

Resident Evil: Retribution is a lazy movie and one that despite a $65 million budget, felt so much smaller as the cast are contained more or less in one location (given Tokyo, Moscow and NYC were all computer simulations) but even so, situations are created that make no sense and you have characters who make decisions which not only defy logic but would’ve kept them out of unnecessary fights.
