Review: And You Thought There is Never a Girl Online? – The Complete Series BD

And You Thought There is Never a Girl Online is at least a different kind of anime fantasy movie in terms of an actually interesting story, characters and, pleasantly, animation style which I found a bit more creative compared with the others I’ve come across.

Review: Hyperdimension: Neptunia BD + Screen Caps

Hyperdimension Neptunia is your typical Japanese anime series with your usual designs and humor, but I did find somewhat entertaining for what it is. This Complete Series set, through FUNimation’s S.A.V.E. line, offers good video/audio transfers while the features are, to say the least, light.

Psycho-Pass 2 Blu-ray Review

“Psycho-Pass 2” builds on the success of its first season with another compelling storyline and characters you actually can care about. On the technical side, the animation is still beautiful and the voice acting, both Japanese and English, is superb.

Review: Terror in Resonance: The Complete Series BD + Screen Caps

Although not as strong story wise as “Cowboy Bebop” or “Ghost in the Shell”, “Terror in Resonance” is still one of the stronger anime shows to be produced. The animation style stands out from the bunch and both the English and Japanese voice cast are well done.

Review: Attack on Titan: Part 1 BD + Screen Caps

“Attack on Titan”: Part I is an incredible anime series and perhaps one of my favorites alongside or just behind “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.” The voice acting is excellent and the story compelling from beginning to end, and that’s to go along with beautiful animation.

Review: “Eden of the East”: Premium Edition BD + Screen Caps

“Eden of the East”, and its two feature films, is an incredibly fun and often inventive anime series with well written characters. At only 11 episodes, and about 3 hours for the movies, it’s not a big time investment and is worth watching with an engrossing storyline.

Review: Date A Live II BD + Screen Caps

Date A Live II is probably a middle-of-the-road anime but it does at least feature a nice voice cast (both Japanese and English) and some lovely looking animation, however, it is on the forgettable side and pales compared to the strong anime series.

Review: “Tokyo ESP”: The Complete Series BD + Screen Caps

“Tokyo ESP” isn’t the most innovative anime or anything and borrows more than a few ideas from the likes of “X-Men” but it’s still an incredibly fun and entertaining one-off series with some great voice work on both the Japanese and English sides while the animation, albeit basic, is still fairly nice to look at.

Review: C3: CubexCursedxCurious BD + Screen Caps

Hardly perfect and having a few of the problems I had with something like Maken-Ki, I found “CS: CubexCursedxCurious” is a fun and charming little anime series that I found entertaining in spite of moving a bit too fast in its storytelling and unfortunately fits in all the plots and characters into one season.

Review: Maken-Ki! Two BD + Screen Caps

“Maken Ki! Two” does have some impressive animation but the stories are, at best, thin and only serves to fulfill men’s fantasies, but beyond that, the jokes, such as they are, fall completely flat and it was tough sledding to get through the season.

Review: Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie BD + Screen Caps

Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, in spite of the lame subtitle, is an entertaining addition to the fascinating and enjoyable franchise that takes many cues from previous versions but tries out a different message. The animation is still fantastic and although new viewers will easily be lost, as a casual fan, I still found it well done, even if it’s a big step back from the “old” TV series.
