Haven Blu-ray Review

Haven isn’t one of the top notch amongst the interconnected ensemble dramas and really doesn’t have a whole lot to say, though thankfully not as heavy-handed but I generally thought the performances were alright at least.

Avengers: Endgame Blu-ray Review

Although at its core I don’t think Avengers Endgame was as strong compared to Infinity War, the emotional aspects however more than made up for it, and the biggest impact was Robert Downey Jr.’s fantastic performance.

Man on a Ledge 4K Ultra HD Review

Admittedly, the plot for Man on a Ledge is on the preposterous side with sizeable plot holes but given what it is and the cast gathered, I was still rather entertained.

Avengers: Infinity War 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Review + BD Screen Caps

Avengers: Infinity War was an amazing feat for comic book movies and although I don’t believe it’s the greatest one, it’s still a great accomplishment from all involved.

Captain America: Civil War 3D Blu-ray Review

Captain America: Civil War is a good movie for sure and I did enjoy elements of it and the fight between Cap and Iron Man was well done, however, the film does have its issues but on the whole is entertaining.

Review: Triple 9 BD + Screen Caps

Triple 9 didn’t exactly fulfill its potential given the cast and a solid start yet still it’s very entertaining with some well shot action scenes and fine performances by Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie and Clifton Collins Jr. who at times steals the show.

Review: Love the Coopers BD + Screen Caps

Love the Coopers has an impressive cast but below par script. It’s not all that entertaining despite having the likes of John Goodman, Diane Keaton, Marisa Tomei and Alan Arkin (not to mention Anthony Mackie in a thankless role) and with some snips could easily air on TBS to fill airtime around Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Review: Our Brand is Crisis BD + Screen Caps

Our Brand is Crisis isn’t a bad movie per se but it’s one with some identity issues. Personally, it might’ve worked far better as a satire on American politics but they decided to use the country of Bolivia as a stand-in. This is the type of movie that screams rental, not much more.

Pain & Gain: Special Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Pain & Gain might have its moments but the characters are mostly unlikeable and even acknowledging the substance of the plot, it’s not enough to recommend even though Mark Wahlberg is quite good in his role.

Gangster Squad Blu-ray Review

Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad no doubt blew the opportunity to be a special crime-drama and instead it stumbles trying to emulate other gangster movies in the past. Still, I couldn’t help but enjoy the movie especially the performances from Brolin, Gosling, Robert Patrick and Sean Penn that it makes for a worthwhile viewing even with its flaws.
