Superman (2025) is a fine start to the revamped DC Universe under the guide of James Gunn and Peter Safran. David Corenswet is fun as Superman and Nicholas Hoult truly makes you hate Lex Luthor.

At best I would say Jurassic World Rebirth was watchable and okay as a time-waster but it joins the ranks of the others in the franchise of being mediocre.
Scent of a Woman arrives on 4K Ultra HD courtesy of Shout Factory. The drama stars Al Pacino, Chris O’Donnell and a young Philip Seymour Hoffman. Features unfortunately only include two new interviews.
The Conjuring is one of the better supernatural-horror-thriller in spite of a few plot holes (or conveniences). Under the skilled direction of James Wan, this is an all-around entertaining movie especially with the chemistry shared between Farmiga and Wilson.
Air America isn’t a great war-drama-comedy especially compared with the classics, but I still found it mildly entertaining and both Gibson and Downey Jr. acquit themselves fairly well.
Lethal Weapon comes to 4K Ultra HD and while the movie is still classic for good reasons, and is still so much of fun to watch, this 4K Ultra HD release has much to be desired with two featurettes while none of the bonus material was ported over.
Final Destination: Bloodlines is a fine entry into a one-note franchise and this one at least gives us a different way for Death to go after its victims. If you’re even a moderate fan of the previous entries this one is worth checking out.
Meg 2: The Trench is a movie that could’ve been a whole lot of fun but I found it to be a sludge to sit through and at times, early on mainly, took itself too seriously before finding its campiness for the finale.
This Sean Connery 6-Film Collection comes at a fairly high price and while I do think both the video and audio are an upgrade, not big enough to splurge unless you don’t already own these previously.
Law Abiding Citizen was a bit of a disappointment for me. I know what the filmmakers’ were after by making giving the audience a difficult choice of which character to ‘root’ for, but the moral choice didn’t work for me.
Godzilla vs. Biollante was released back in 1989 and was part of a resurgence for the giant lizard. This Criterion Collection release offers up great video and audio transfers to go along with some solid bonus features.
Trap is the latest thriller from M. Night Shyamalan and stars Josh Hartnett, Seleka Night and Alison Pill. The 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray were released on November 5, 2024.
The Searchers is a great western-drama from the renowned John Wayne pairing up with acclaimed director John Ford. While I’m not the biggest fan of the western genre with few exceptions, this one still a great drama that is well worth checking out.
No Country for Old Men is certainly a solid western-drama that features tremendous performances by Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem, the latter especially making for a quiet but nevertheless menacing villain. That said, this probably being my third viewing, it’s not one that entirely gripped me.
North by Northwest is classic Hitchcock and one film I’ve seen many times over the years and it’s as an exhilarating espionage thriller as they come with great performances from Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint.
