Cheer! Rally! Kill! is a collection of Lifetime cheerleading films: Identity Theft of a Cheerleader, The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders, The Cheerleader Escort, Undercover Cheerleader and The Wrong Cheerleader, available on DVD March 2nd.
Assassin’s Game is the rare “gem” of a film with a once respectable actor headlining relegated to a caricature and starring another who should remain way behind the camera. This is an all around poorly made movie and one can’t just blame the budget because I have seen many low budget movies that weren’t half bad. This one, however, isn’t even deserving of being in Wal-Mart’s bargain bin.
Sharknado 2: The Second One is a great entry into the series and is a whole lot of fun through and through with great in-jokes and some wonderful cameos that were great to see (particularly Robert Hays in a fun callback to Airplane). This obviously is not something to take seriously and is especially fun to watch with friends making for a better experience.
Idle Hands is a film I initially didn’t care much for but have grown a bit fonder of over the years. The cast is great headlined by Devon Sawa and Seth Green, with Jessica Alba making an impressive appearance early in her career and serves wonderfully as eye candy.
Hanna-Barbera/Warner Animation has released another fun animated film with Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. The story does have a “been there, done that” feel but the writers throw a loop in to keep the mystery going until the very end. The humor actually works most of the time and the side story of the Fred/Daphne relationship keeps their story moving forward.
