Dead Heat is an all-around fun 1980s dark comedy horror film featuring some impressive makeup effects along with entertaining performances from Williams and Piscopo.
The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper is an exaggerated telling of the infamous skyjacking true story and stars Treat Williams in the titular role and Robert Duvall as the man in, well, pursuit.
The Dark Knight Rises might be a slight step down from its predecessors in terms of story, but the performances from Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Anne Hathaway were all top notch and it was a satisfying enough conclusion to the trilogy.
Smooth Talk is an interesting albeit imperfect drama that culminates with a dark and creepy finale that, even though it went on a bit too long, still was incredibly effective. The performances from Laura Dern and Treat Williams also stand out and make it worth checking out.
In the Blood has plenty of issues but with Gina Carano’s fighting skills and being at least an adequate enough actress on par with 80s/90s versions of Jean-Claude Van Dam and Steven Seagal, has the potential to be a staple in the thin mindless action flicks if she picks the right scripts.
