Scooby-Doo: The Sword and the Scoob DVD Review

Feb 212021

Overall, Scooby-Doo: The Sword and the Scoob is a fine movie for families with younger kids and is pretty much in line with so many of the other direct-to-video flicks in the franchise.

Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! DVD Review

Sep 262020

Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo is a fun entry into the DTV line of animated movies. At only 76-minutes long, it’s a fine time-waster and I suspect families will enjoy this one.

Scoob! 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

Jul 282020

Scoob may not satisfy hard-core fans of this long-running franchise but I found it mildly entertaining and the CGI animation was pretty good and for the most part liked the voice casting.

Emma Blu-ray Review

Jul 142020

Emma is a nice little Victorian-era drama and the latest Jane Austen adaptation. I don’t know how it compares with others but found this mostly entertaining and engaging due largely to Anya Taylor-Joy.

Duplicity Blu-ray Review

Dec 272019

Duplicity didn’t do a whole lot for me when I last saw it back in 2009 as the chemistry between Julia Roberts and Clive Owen wasn’t entirely palpable though I did enjoy some of the story elements.

Doom: Annihilation Blu-ray Review

Oct 262019

Doom: Annihilation could’ve been dumb fun, as the 2005 version had elements of though overall still failed, and instead is just another in a long line of poorly made video game to film adaptations.

Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island DVD Review

Oct 012019

Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island is yet another fine direct-to-video movie that really doesn’t stand out all that much from the others at this point, but being only 80-minutes, does make for a quick viewing.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies: The (Almost) Complete Collection Blu-ray Review

The New Scooby-Doo Movies: The (Almost) Complete Collection is a great set from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, a must for any big Scooby-Doo fans as you get the long-awaited lost episodes… save for one unfortunately.

Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost DVD Review

Jan 272019

Scooby-Doo and the Curse of the 13th Ghost was an okay movie that at least did make be chuckle a few times and I did enjoy the connection with the old 1985-86 series, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo which was pretty cool.

Sarah T. — Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic Blu-ray Review

Jan 252019

Sarah T.: Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic is actually not a half bad little drama from 1975, one which has garnered a modest following over the years and the long wait is over as Shout Factory gives it its home video debut.

Basic Instinct 2: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Nov 282018

Basic Instinct 2 might be bad but it’s also hardly terrible either and I will give some credit to both Sharon Stone and David Morrissey for wading through some lurid dialogue and a mindless plot.

Slender Man Blu-ray Review

Nov 072018

Slender Man was a poorly conceived project where there’s not even a good idea at its core, but even besides that, its several years too late and given the darker connections to the character should have given the studio some pause to even make it.
