The Goldfinch is a well shot film with a great cast that includes Ansel Elgort, Sarah Paulson, Jeffrey Wright and Nicole Kidman, sadly the story wasn’t very interesting, was a tad too long.

Glass 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Review

Glass isn’t great and doesn’t exactly live up to the potential set forth by the twist ending of Split. That being said, there is some entertainment value and all in all was at the very least a satisfying film featuring a couple good performances, particularly McAvoy and Jackson.

Ocean’s 8 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review + BD Screen Caps

Ocean’s Eight isn’t as slick of a film compared with Ocean’s Eleven, but despite a lacking and bland cinematography and some jarring dialogue, I did generally find this entry into the franchise mostly entertaining for the ensemble cast.

American Horror Story: Roanoke BD + Screen Caps

Although I didn’t really care for the format of this season on American Horror Story, or the style of the final few episodes, there is some tense atmosphere and the performances at least weren’t bad, with Sarah Paulson being the highlight.

Review: Carol BD + Screen Caps

A well made movie from Todd Haynes, finely adapted from Patricia Highsmith’s best-selling novel, Carol features strong performances by Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, which really propels the plot and makes it so engaging from beginning to end.

American Horror Story: Asylum Blu-ray Review

“American Horror Story: Asylum”: The Complete Second Season is another triumph for FX and although on the whole I liked the first season better, this one has a lot to offer including some excellent performances headlined by Zachary Quinto and Jessica Lange amongst others.

The Spirit Blu-ray Review

The Spirit is a sad misstep of a film big on style – even if it is copied almost exactly from Sin City – but short on story. I know what Miller was going after with the campy nature but what might look good on the page (screenplay or comic book) may not translate too well on the screen.
