Teen Titans: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review

The Teen Titans: The Complete Series release is a great set especially if you didn’t already own the individual releases, plus it saves a small amount of shelf space for those lacking it.

Star Trek: Picard Movie & TV Collection Blu-ray Review

The Star Trek: Picard – Movie & TV Collection is not a release for fans of the franchise but those who have a low or at best moderate interest in the series but never purchased the original TNG movie collection.

5ive Girls Blu-ray Review

5ive Girls might’ve borrowed from other sources and isn’t the most well made movie but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t at least mildly entertained by some of the elements, especially.

Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms/Blood & Iron 4K Ultra HD Review

With the Hellboy reboot coming out, Lionsgate tries one more time to capitalize on a franchise that didn’t do so well and also serving as an advert. In any case, I did enjoy both of these animated movies and really wish they had continued.

Sleepwalkers: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Review

Sleepwalkers isn’t a favorite horror-fantasy of mine, though I’m also not a big fan of Stephen King adaptations either save for The Shining. That being said, there are some wonderfully amusing moments.

Down (a.k.a. The Shaft) BD + Screen Caps

Down (aka The Shaft) is an incredibly flawed but yet still quite entertaining supernatural horror flick that doesn’t have many surprises to offer and the writing isn’t the best, though watching this amongst friends makes for a good time.

Conan the Barbarian 4K Ultra HD Review

Conan the Barbarian isn’t a terrible movie by any stretch but it is one plagued with numerous lifeless action scenes, thinly written characters and at best average performances from the cast. The costume design is OK although nothing we haven’t seen on Xena and the like.

Review: Chuck BD + Screen Caps

Chuck is a run-of-the-mill boxing drama that features some solid performances headlined by Liev Schreiber, Elisabeth Moss and Jim Gaffigan, though in Schreiber’s case, it’s amazing the work he was able to do with the amount of make-up caked on his face…

Review: Romeo is Bleeding BD + Screen Caps

Romeo is Bleeding is certainly a unique movie though also kind of typical Gary Oldman from the 1990s turning in a bizarrely fascinating performance as does Lena Olin who manages to keep up with his insanity, and at times topping it. It’s not perfect but with Oldman and Olin, well worth checking out.

Review: Poker Night BD + Screen Caps

Poker Night isn’t a terrible movie but it really doesn’t offer anything new to the genre as it delves into every cliché in the horror book. That said, the acting wasn’t half bad and I can’t complain seeing more work from the venerable Titus Welliver in a supporting role. The Blu-ray released by XLrator Media is very basic with good audio/video transfers but the bonus material is almost non-existent save for the trailer.

Blade II Blu-ray Review

Blade II is a great movie and one of the better comic book films to be released in the past decade. Having Guillermo del Toro helm this entry was one reason for its success especially in the visual realm. The action is well shot and the suspense is maintained throughout. It also features a good performance from Wesley Snipes as well as Ron Perlman who make for a cool baddie.

Alien Anthology Blu-ray Review

After a long delay, I finally got the entire review done of this massive 6-disc Blu-ray set and I will admit, this is easily the best movie collection on Blu-ray that I’ve encountered as it not only ported over every feature from not only the 9-disc DVD set.
