Overlord 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

Overlord is one hell of a thrill ride that combined World War II drama (with respect if not historic flexibility) and zombie horror and the combination was a lot of fun thanks to creative direction and a charismatic ensemble cast.

Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season BD + Screen Caps

Although Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season isn’t the strongest of this series, it’s still another solid year with great performances and some well written storylines with more maneuvers by our characters as each position themselves for power.

Woodshock BD + Screen Caps

Woodshock was a film that was hard to sit through, not because of the emotional plights of its main character played by Kirsten Dunst, but because the story was nonsensical and had a third act that was utterly pretentious, nearly on the same level of Terrence Malick.

Ghost in the Shell (2017) 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Review

I’d say Ghost in the Shell was one of the bigger disappointments of 2017 but considering what I had been seeing before its release, including the director, expectations were vastly lowered and it was pretty much matched. No, it’s not horrible but in trying to satisfy fans and the general audience, the studio failed at both.

Review: Ben-Hur BD + Screen Caps

This adaptation of Ben-Hur wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but that doesn’t mean it should’ve been made. However, at least Jack Huston gives an earnest and heartfelt performance while Morgan Freeman basically phoned in his performance and the visual effects were mostly impressive.
