NCIS: The Fifteenth Season DVD Review

NCIS: Season 15 is hardly the best in the long-running series nor the best written, but I still generally enjoyed the season and Maria Bello seems like a nice addition, though hopefully she’ll stick around beyond a couple of years.

Review: Lights Out BD + Screen Caps

I was pleasantly surprised with Lights Out, guess James Wan even as a producer as the Midas touch. Now, it’s not exactly an innovation in the horror genre or anything but serves as a perfectly effective but enjoyable experience with some well done performances.

Review: The 5th Wave BD + Screen Caps

The 5th Wave is a movie that maybe five years ago I would’ve been OK with but with so many YA adaptations, it would seem Hollywood will make just about anything and while I don’t think this is the weakest of the bunch, hard to be worse than the Twilight Saga, it’s really not a very good movie.

Prisoners Blu-ray Review

Prisoners is certainly one of the better movies to come out of 2013, though I do think it was a tad overrated given the hype. However, the performances from Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal are brilliant and the atmosphere brought by Villeneuve and DP Deakins is absolutely absorbing.

Grown Ups 2 Blu-ray Review

The first Grown Ups movie wasn’t anything special but it did provide a few laughs and a relatively coherent plot, Grown Ups 2 on the other hand has no real plot to speak of but worst of all, there’s no real laughs and seeing this cast back together is hardly enough to hold the film together.

Abduction Blu-ray Review

To say the least, Abduction is not a very good movie, the acting from Lautner is pretty bad (and at best just OK) while the talented supporting cast can’t overcome a lame script and overwrought storyline. The action sequences are all fairly average but at the same time I at least found some of it to be entertaining even when things get bad.
