National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a holiday classic and for me a must-watch every year. This newest edition does have good video and audio transfers, just a shame there wasn’t more than a commentary track and trailer.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles 4K Ultra HD Review

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is still a fantastic, hilarious and, in John Hughes fashion, heartwarming film. For me and my family, it hasn’t quite risen to the traditional yearly viewing that Christmas Vacation has become, but certainly this should be required viewing as well.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: 35th Anniversary Blu-ray Review

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a classic for a reason. It’s funny and even has its poignant moments, Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck are pitch-perfect in their roles and Mia Sara for her part has a few nice moments, as does Jennifer Grey.

Sixteen Candles is another home-run from John Hughes, further proving his amazing influence on the 1980s that still resonates to this day. This Blu-ray release from Arrow Video offers up great video and audio transfers to go along with some good bonus material.

The Breakfast Club: 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray Review

Double dips isn’t anything new from studios and no doubt this 30th Anniversary Edition of The Breakfast Club is no different where what’s different from the release five years might not be enough to warrant a purchase if you already own that version. However, at a good price, the upgrade to a new video codec from the original 35MM film print might make it worthwhile.
