Review: Sky on Fire BD + Screen Caps

Sky on Fire had potential but the execution I felt was on the sloppy side though Daniel Wu did well in a lead role and some of the action scenes were shot pretty well while the visual effects were mostly laughable.

Review: The Man in the Moon BD + Screen Caps

The Man in the Moon is a well made coming-of-age story that’s probably most memorable for being Reese Witherspoon’s introduction but also features a nice supporting cast.

Review: Snitch 4K UHD + Screen Caps

Snitch is an entertaining suspense-thriller vehicle for Dwayne Johnson and while there were stretches that were unbelievable yet I still bought in to enough to make it a worthwhile watch.

Review: Aftermath BD + Screen Caps

Aftermath is a surprisingly well done drama featuring a few solid performances, most notably, Arnold Schwarzenegger showcasing some tenderness and honorable mention to Scoot McNary.

Review: The Blackcoat’s Daughter BD + Screen Caps

The Blackcoat’s Daughter was a surprisingly effective horror-thriller, and one I felt was actually better than the much praised The Witch, from Oz Perkins and features some solid performances led way by Kiernan Shipka with honorable mention for Emma Roberts.

Review: Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 2 BD

Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 2 has some very interesting movies though honestly, I didn’t find them very engaging, but I can appreciate them on a technical level. For hardcore film historians out there, this is well worth picking up as most of these are no doubt hard to come by.

Review: The Assignment BD + Screen Caps

The Assignment had an interesting premise and starts off well, if not weird, enough before devolving into familiar territory for the remainder of the film. On the plus side, Michelle Rodriguez isn’t bad once she’s rid of the hilariously bad fake beard and you can never have enough Sigourney Weaver in a movie.

Review: Malibu High BD + Screen Caps

Sure Malibu High is the typical silly 1970s sex comedy and on that level, it might be worthwhile watching amongst friends to mock, but outside of that, not sure there’s really any reason unless that era, and ultra low budget films, fascinates you.

Review: The Stone Killer BD + Screen Caps

Although The Stone Killer is probably the lesser of Charles Bronson’s films, it’s still is a lot of fun and being obscure enough, doubtful very many have seen it, so with this Twilight Time release, hopefully it’ll get more play in the future.

Review: Logan BD + Screen Caps

Logan is one hell of a film, a modern day western with tortured soul of a character who happens to have claws. Hugh Jackman once again gives it his all and thankfully this time around, the writing was far superior over the previous solo films.

Review: Fist Fight BD + Screen Caps

Fist Fight is exactly what I was expecting: Charlie Day’s talents being underutilized, Ice Cube scowling most of the time, jokes falling completely flat and a story being stretched even with its short 85-minute running time.

Review: The Shack BD + Screen Caps

The Shack admittedly isn’t my kind of movie but it’s perfectly safe and does have a positive message while not getting overly preachy compared with other religious movies that have inundated cinema in the last few years.
