Warning from Space(a.k.a. Spacemen Appear in Tokyo) comes to Blu-ray from Arrow Video (released on 10/13) and comes with a select-scene commentary, American version of the film, trailers and a gallery.
Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! is the latest installment in the vaunted family-adventure franchise and features the voice cast of Melissa Rauch, Max Greenfield and George Lopez and is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digitally.
Valley Girl is an update version of the 1983 classic with a musical twist. The film stars Jessica Rothe, Josh Whitehouse, Mae Whitman and Judy Greer. The Blu-ray (out 10/6) is available for purchase and comes with a Digital HD code.
The Secret: Dare to Dream is inspired by the best-selling self-help book and stars Katie Holmes, Josh Lucas and Jerry O’Connell. The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack released by Lionsgate is currently available for purchase.
The Focus Features: 10-Movie Spotlight Collection is a good selection of dramas, some better than others and one that is a personal favorite of mine (Lost in Translation). That being said, this is only worth picking up if you don’t own any of the 10 films, though the cost per movie is reasonable.
All of these films in this Blumhouse of Horrors: 10-Movie Collection have been released before. This is a good set to receive as it is a space saver from owning these individually and the price per movie isn’t bad, however you do have a few stinkers.
Michael debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection and stars a great ensemble cast including John Travolta, Andie MacDowell, William Hurt and Bob Hoskins.
Girl Crazy debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection. The musical-comedy stars Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland and includes an audio commentary and miscellaneous features.
Clara’s Heart debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection and stars Whoopi Goldberg, Kathleen Quinlan and Neil Patrick Harris in one of this earliest roles.
The Specials has some aspects of a young James Gunn personality though the humor is a bit raw as is the plot, which was done better in 1999’s Mystery Men.
Robert the Bruce, although not a sequel, picks up where the events of Braveheart left off and stars Angus Mcfaden (who also co-scripted) and Jared Harris. The Blu-ray release comes with a commentary and a featurette.
Pride and Prejudice, starring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier, comes to Blu-ray through the Warner Archive Collection coming with an excellent video and solid audio transfers, alongside a few bonus features.
Pennyworth is the latest series based on characters from DC Comics, this time getting the suspense-filled drama about the background for the future Wayne butler, Alfred. The season arrived on Blu-ray June 23rd.
