I mentioned it before but I’m not a big fan of musicals, with few exceptions, but Hello, Frisco, Hello wasn’t half bad holding some charm thanks to Alice Faye.

Then, when she hears of Johnny’s failed stage career, the newly minted London star tries to help him out.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2.0/5

This comes with an 8-page booklet. Also included is Hello Again: The Remaking of Alice Faye featurette on the actress, Two Radio Programs of Hello, Frisco, Hello and last the Original Theatrical Trailer.

VIDEO – 4.5/5, AUDIO – 4.0/5

Twilight Time releases Hello, Frisco, Hello onto Blu-ray presented with a full frame 1.33 aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. Not sure if any restoration work was done on this, but the picture quality does looks excellent, detail is sharp while colors shine through thanks to the Technicolor technology of the time. There were some minor specs but nothing over abundant  or distracting.

The disc includes a standard but efficient DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track which, even through one channel, the musical numbers do come through as does the clear dialogue levels.

OVERALL – 3.0/5

Overall, I mentioned it before but I’m not a big fan of musicals, with few exceptions, but Hello, Frisco, Hello wasn’t half bad holding some charm thanks to Alice Faye. The Blu-ray release from Twilight Time as part of their “Limited Edition Series” offers some okay features but great video and audio transfers.
