I give a brief breakdown on Mill Creek’s June 7th multi-movie pack releases, specifically Streets of Fear and Midnight Movie Madness. None of these movies are of high-quality and are mainly remembered for the stars sometimes in smaller roles. At basement bargain prices, these might be worthy for collector’s of these cheap sets.
National Lampoon’s Vacation is as funny as ever with a great cast, hilarious jokes and an all around fun storyline filled with a mix of low-brow and even, for the time, risqué humor. The Blu-ray however might include the enthralling “Inside Story” documentary but I don’t believe the video has been remastered and is probably the same transfer as the 2010 release.
Armed and Dangerous isn’t a great comedy by any stretch as the comedy falls short and the action scenes were fairly mundane, though typical for a 1980s action-comedy. John Candy and Eugene Levy share some comedic chemistry and for fans of either actor might enjoy the film for what it is. The Blu-ray itself has a good video transfer and an OK audio track.
