Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins probably has a decent concept but the execution wasn’t the best and Fred Ward, as fine of a character he might be, doesn’t quite work in the lead. Still, there is some entertainment value.

Hard Target Blu-ray Review

Hard Target was John Woo’s first foray into Hollywood and while not a rousing success as this one doesn’t quite have his visual flair, there are some incredibly hilarious scenes that would make this good for roasting amongst friends.

10 to Midnight may not be top-quality Charles Bronson though story wise, the writing, even my personal qualms of a detective doing what he does, is far stronger than Death Wish.

Review: The Thing BD + Screen Caps

John Carpenter’s The Thing is certainly one of the best sci-fi horror/thrillers out there and just might rank behind Alien and Aliens, though I still prefer those two. Where this succeeds, much like those two, is the claustrophobic atmosphere with the added subtext of paranoia.

Review: My Fellow Americans DVD

My Fellow Americans is sort of the prototypical comedy from the 1990s and although not terribly well written, it’s a passably amusing film that excels due to the talents of Jack Lemmon and James Garner, with some honorable mention to John Heard who elicited a few laughs out of me.
