Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: 35th Anniversary Blu-ray Review

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a classic for a reason. It’s funny and even has its poignant moments, Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck are pitch-perfect in their roles and Mia Sara for her part has a few nice moments, as does Jennifer Grey.

Review: The Lion King: The Signature Collection BD + Screen Caps

This “Signature Collection” release of The Lion King isn’t anything special but the video and audio transfers are both pitch perfect and while the features aren’t that great,  it’s nice to see this amazing movie get back on Blu-ray.

Review: Manchester by the Sea BD + Screen Caps

Manchester by the Sea is a film that excels on the performance by Casey Affleck with honorable mentions toward Michelle Williams in her brief role and the young Lucas Hedges in one of his first major stint.

Review: The American Side DVD

The American Side starts out well enough as a throwback crime-mystery before, for whatever reason, the writers decided to throw in a “Da Vinci Code”-like story arc that really failed to connect. On the plus side, the cast isn’t bad led by Greg Stuhr (who co-wrote), Camilla Belle, Matthew Broderick and Robert Forster.

Tower Heist Blu-ray Review

Tower Heist has a few issues dealing the plot’s logic but thanks to a fine ensemble cast, I’m able to overlook any of the script’s shortcomings; it gets the job done with both the crime and comedy.
