Hollywood’s Greatest Screen Legends set might be cool in theory but these are episodes of something called “Hollywood Remembers” from 2000 and these were not professionally produced though you can at least see the passion as I doubt this was some money ploy.
Strange Cargo is a charming adventure romance and epitomizes 1940s Hollywood with Clark Gable and Joan Crawford starring.
Nicholas Ray’s Johnny Guitar is a well written western-thriller film that features a powerhouse and spunky performance from Joan Crawford. The Blu-ray released by Olive Film’s new Signature line offers great video, good audio and a solid selection of bonus material.
The Best of Everything is a fine, if not overdrawn, melodrama/big screen soap opera featuring wonderful performances by Hope Lange, Suzy Parker and the deliciously devilish, before The Devil Wears Prada, Joan Crawford who alone makes this a worthwhile watch.
