Jimi: All Is By My Side Blu-ray Review

Jimi: All is By My Side might’ve had the best of intentions and despite an admirable performance from Andre Benjamin, who was clearly 10 years too old to play Hendrix, this was a misfire that began when the Hendrix estate wouldn’t allow the use of his music which right there should’ve cancelled the project.

Need for Speed Blu-ray Review

I’ll admit upfront that Need for Speed isn’t a great movie yet in a Gone in Sixty Seconds (remake) kind of way, it’s moderately entertaining thanks to some nice car stunts and the two leads with Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots share some fun chemistry making one forget about a paper-thin script and plot.

A Late Quartet is the surprise gem of 2012 featuring four great performances, one of which from Walken deserving of more recognition, and a story which is rich with great drama, even when certain scenes get on the melodramatic side.
