The biographical drama Che! is kind of laughable with some shoddy performances, though not so much from Omar Sharif as Che but instead someone felt it was a good idea casting someone like Jack Palance as Fidel Castro.

PLOT SYNOPSIS
Made just two years after his death, Che! Is the Hollywood version of the life of Argentinian doctor-turned-revolutionary Che Guevara (OMAR SHARIF), who became the legendary partner of revel fighter Fidel Castro (JACK PALANCE) in the ultimately successful Cuban Revolution.

VIDEO – 4.25/5
Che! marches onto Blu-ray presented in its original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Considering this is a 45 year old movie, I was impressed with the picture showing off vibrant colors and detail levels are fairly good and sharp. I did notice the occasional dust marks but it’s minimal and unobtrusive.
AUDIO – 3.75/5
The DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo Mono track does have clear dialogue levels and even the action/war scenes give some depth though obviously it is limited. Even so, it’s a good lossless track and it’s doubtful this movie has ever sounded better.
OVERALL – 2.5/5
Overall, the biographical drama Che! is kind of laughable with some shoddy performances, though not so much from Omar Sharif as Che but instead someone felt it was a good idea casting someone like Jack Palance as Fidel Castro. The Blu-ray released by Twilight Time has good video and audio transfers but falls flat in the bonus material department.
