SERIES’ SYNOPSIS

Although he has no plans to step aside as the head of Waystar Royco, the international media conglomerate controlled by his family, aging patriarch Logan Roy (BRIAN COX) is contemplating what the future holds. He has lingered in the limelight longer than even he thought he would, and now family members want to run the company as they see fit. Despite a best-laid succession plan, tempers flare over Logan’s intentions. Kendall Roy (JEREMY STRONG), Logan’s eldest son from his second marriage and a division president at the firm, is the heir apparent. As Kendall attempts to solidify his eventual takeover, he and the three other Roy children (KIERNAN CULKIN, ALAN RUCK, SARAH SNOOK) face a difficult choice as company control and family loyalties collide.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 4¼/5

This 12-disc set is housed in a DVD-sized case with a thin slip cover. All features from previous releases have been ported over (frankly, these are probably the same discs). There are a whopping 24 featurettes including 7 “Inside the Episode” featurettes, several “Controlling the Narrative” featurettes and a variety of random ones as well.

VIDEO – 4½/5, AUDIO – 4¼/5

Succession is presented in its original 2.00 widescreen aspect ratio as originally aired on HBO. The 1080p high-definition transfers on each episode does look quite good with sharp detail and some vibrant colors while black levels are nicely balanced.

Every episode comes equipped with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track that is more than effective as of course this a dialogue-heavy series though there is some depth with the score.
