Lockdown is the latest of the slew of direct-to-video action-thrillers, this one starring Michael Pare and Bai Ling. It’s cheap and a throwaway movie that not even the good-bad crowd would find all that entertaining.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Hell on earth erupts as three sadistic criminals take over a precinct and hold the police force hostage. Promising to kill one cop every hour, the three gunmen — a rapist, a serial killer, and their psychotic leader — play sadistic games with the terrified cops and a high-strung prostitute (BAI LING). Meanwhile, an FBI agent (MICHAEL PARÉ) is racing to rescue the officers, but as time runs out, the hostages may have to fight to save their own lives.

SPECIAL FEATURES – ½/5

The only feature is the trailer.

VIDEO – 3½/5, AUDIO – 3½/5

Lockdown is presented with a 16×9 enhanced 1.78 aspect ratio and given an acceptable Dolby Digital 5.1 track which better shows off the score though dialogue came across with decent clarity, though some times the cheaper sound design is noticeable.
